Police can now release the name of the two men who died following a helicopter crash outside of Whangarei yesteday afternoon.
They were Allan Jessop, aged 42 of Tangiteroria and Derek Hammond, aged 49 of Kauri.
Police have now removed the bodies from the crash site and they are being transported to Auckland for a post-moterm to be carried out. This will happen tomorrow.
Police have no further comment as this incident is now subject to a Civil Aviation Authority investigation.
