Papakura Police seeking information on stolen car

1 min read

Papakura Police received a report that a previously stolen vehicle was seen at the McDonalds drive-thru on Great South Road at approximately 6:25pm this evening.

A Police Sergeant attended and spoke with the male driver. There was also a female passenger and an unrestrained infant in the vehicle.

As the drive-thru queue cleared, the driver of the vehicle accelerated and knocked the Sergeant over, before driving through a red light at speed.

The Sergeant sustained minor injuries and has received medical attention.

Police are concerned at the level of disregard shown, not only for the safety of their staff, but for members of the public and other occupants of the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a home painted matte-black Nissan Terrano registration BMM872.

Police ask anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle or its occupants to contact 111 immediately or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
