Police appeal for Monday’s good Samaritan to contact them

1 min read

On Monday (8 June 2015) between 6pm and 9pm two teenage boys were picked up from a rural part of the Halswell / Tai Tapu area by a good Samaritan and taken to Riccarton Mall.

Canterbury Police understand that the boys were making their way back to the city on foot, after there was a disagreement with people they knew, when they accepted a lift from the good Samaritan.  Both boys were wearing dark clothing and the actions of the good Samaritan ultimately got them to their destination safely.  Unfortunately the boys cannot describe the car or the person who came to their aid.

The good Samaritan has not committed any offence and Canterbury Police would like to talk to them to confirm the time the boys were picked up.

If you were travelling in the area and saw the boys or are the good Samaritan who gave them a lift please call Christchurch Police Station on 03 363 7400.

Information can also be provided anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
