Police work to identify body in harbour

1 min read

Police have recovered the body of a man whose was discovered floating in Greville Harbour, D'Urville Island yesterday afternoon.

The body was found by a couple who were moored on their yacht in the harbour. There was a second yacht moored about 100 metres from them and it is believed the deceased man had come from that yacht.

The couple managed to pull the body from the water into a dinghy and secured it until Police arrived on a Coastguard launch.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the identity of the man and a post mortem examination will be conducted today.

The circumstances around the death do not appear suspicious.
