Search for missing hunter continues

1 min read

The third day of a Canterbury Police SAR led search for 64 year old Murray Edge was completed by a smaller team of around 20 Police and volunteer SAR specialists today (22 April 2015).

Murray was reported as missing shortly after 7.30am on Monday (20 April 2015) after he was last seen at around 8.30pm on Sunday (19 April 2015).

Canterbury Rural Area Commander, Inspector Dave Gaskin, said “A couple of other small areas of interest have been identified following a review of today's search team GPS data.  We intend to search these remaining areas tomorrow (23 April 2015).”

"Due to the terrain the search effort has been downsized to enable the remaining areas to be searched safely and thoroughly. So far we have not found anything to indicate where Murray may be" he said.

A further update will be provided at some point tomorrow (23 April 2015).
