The woman reported as dead earlier today following an incident in Cambridge is alive but in a critical condition at Waikato Hospital.
The car carrying a trailer went off the road and into the river at approximately 12:25pm.
Initial information received at the time was that she had died at the scene.
However, after significant medical intervention, including approximately one hour of CPR, she has regained a pulse.
She was taken to hospital and, as of 4:50pm, remains in intensive care in a critical condition.
The other patient remains in a moderate condition.
