Update on incident in Grey Lynn, Auckland

Police are speaking to three people who are helping with enquiries into an aggravated robbery at a Grey Lynn  dairy yesterday evening.

Investigators and forensic specialists have been working throughout the night and are currently a conducting  a scene examination.

“This appears to be an unprovoked and violent attack and police are determined to hold the offenders to account.  We’d like to reassure the community we are doing everything we can to apprehend those responsible for this attack,” said Superintendent Karyn Malthus.

The two victims, a mother and  her adult son, have received serious and critical injuries and have both undergone surgery.  They are now both in a stable condition.

Police are still working to establish the circumstances of what has occurred and enquiries are ongoing and a further update will be given early this afternoon.
