Inspector Dave White, Road Policing Manager for Central District Police advises that there is extremely bad weather making driving on SH1 north of Levin very treacherous.
There is heavy rain and mist and extremely high winds, and gusts risk blowing trucks and other high vehicles over the road.
Extreme caution should be exercised if driving through this area.
