A pedestrian killed in a road crash in Whakatane on Friday (24 April) has been formally identified as 17-year-old local man Raiden Howden.
He was struck by a car on Keepa Road, Whakatane at approximately 8.50pm.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Enquiries are also continuing into a second fatal crash in the Awakeri area of Whakatane the following night (Saturday, 25 April) which claimed the life of another 17-year-old male. His details will be release as soon as the formalities have been completed.
