Canterbury Police are seeking witnesses to a dangerous driving incident that occurred on Wednesday 27 March.

Police believe the incident, between a black Subaru Legacy car and a black Jeep Cherokee station wagon, started on Anzac Drive near New Brighton Road at around 5:10pm. It followed a minor crash between two vehicles.

After initially stopping, both vehicles drove on with one effectively pursuing the other from the crash scene over a distance of six kilometres.

This occurred both on Frosts Road near Travis Road and again in the Burwood Road and Prestons Road area.

Several vehicles along the route were forced to take evasive action to avoid crashes during the alleged offending.

Police wish to remind members of the public that in no way is such action appropriate and Police take all reports of potential dangerous driving and potential harm to other motorists very seriously.

Police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information that could assist Police with their investigation are urged to contact Christchurch Central Police on 03 363 7400 and quote file number 190402/1357.

Information can also be passed on through www.police.govt.nz/contact-us/do-it-online .
