State Highway 5, Te Pohue, is closed due to dangerous conditions following a diesel spill.
The road is currently closed in both directions while contractors clear the road.
This will impact anyone planning to travel between Napier and Taupō.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay travel if possible.
