Rowan Carroll, the Director of the New Zealand Police Museum, discusses the Museum's recent 3 year Human Remains project on Radio New Zealand. The project laid to rest a collection of forensically interesting human remains which were gathered for Police training purposes between 1906 and 1956.

Child Protection Offender Register and Risk Management Framework - Regulatory Impact Statement

This Regulatory Impact Statement has been prepared by the New Zealand Police and the Department of Corrections.


It analyses a proposal to establish a Child Protection Offender Register and offender risk-based multi-agency management framework in New Zealand. The proposal is designed to reduce the risk of serious harm to children from known child sex offenders living in the community.

The proposal is for the registration of child sex offenders who are convicted of a qualifying offence and either sentenced to imprisonment, or sentenced to a non-custodial sentence and directed to be registered by the sentencing judge.
