This chapter explains legislation relating to offensive weapons, knives and disabling substances, and Police powers and procedures when dealing with offensive weapons and related items.

This chapter outlines how to take appropriate and effective action into reports of missing persons; how to ensure that the reporting standards and performance of missing person investigations are consistent; and how to efficiently record details of long-term missing persons. Kidnap for ransom offences are high‐risk, fast‐moving investigations that require an immediate yet careful Police response.
