Annual Report 2002

The 2002 Annual Report places significance on the events of September 11 and the effect this had on policing in New Zealand. Other significant events included the postponed visit by HRH Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh in the New Year.

The 2001/02 year also saw public trust and confidence in Police rise to an all-time high. Staff numbers also rose to a record high, but recruitment around the wider Auckland area is needed to attract more sworn staff members.

Annual Report 2001

The 2000/01 year has been relatively quiet in terms of major operations and this has enabled Police to focus on core activities. The year saw the introduction or improvement of a range of management processes that was greatly enabled by the appointment of two new deputy commissioners and other senior executive appointments.
