Current Initiatives

Police are running a two-year trial to increase reporting and reduce crime in rural North Canterbury – the Rural Lookout Crime Prevention Trial.

Police are working with Federated Farmers, Farmers Mutual Group (FMG), Neighbourhood Support and Community Patrols to support the trial.

The trial includes all members of the Waimakariri and Hurunui rural communities including farm owners and workers and lifestyle block owners and residents.
