  • Meet one of your local Police Officers

    Monday 28 September (week 1)

    Visit the museum and also meet a local Porirua Police Officer. You will have the opportunity to ask the officer questions, have a chat and find out more about what a police officer does and the different roles within Police. 

    Public parking is on Papakowhai Road, please enter the Police College on foot.

     

  • Police Dog Section Visit

    Wed 30 September, 1-2pm (week 1)

    Find out more about the integral roles that working dogs and their handlers play on the front line protecting our streets and communities. Meet the dogs and their handlers with an opportunity to ask the handlers questions and see the dogs in action.

    (Please note: all of our invited dog section teams are operational and in the event of an emergency may not be able to attend).

  • Armed Offenders Squad Visit

    Thursday 8 October, 1-2pm (week 2)

    This is an amazing opportunity to find out how the AOS support frontline Police with pre-planned search warrants and control emergency call-outs involving offensive weapons. Learn about the vital role of the AOS, check out the equipment and ask questions.

    (Please note: our invited AOS member is operational and in the event of an emergency may not be able to attend).

  • Scene of Crime Officer Workshop: Footwear Impression Evidence

    BOOKED OUT

    Thursday 1 (week 1) and Tuesday 6 October (week 2) 1:30pm – 2:30pm

    7 - 12 years             
    $5 per child

    Bookings required

    Create a footprint cast and record a shoe impression using forensic techniques. All junior recruits take home their own cast and impression. 

     

    Tuesday session featuring a real Scene of Crime Officer (SOCO)!

    (Please note: our invited SOCO is operational and may not be able to attend).

  • Scene of Crime Officer Workshop: Latent Fingerprint Evidence

    BOOKED OUT

    Tuesday 29 September (week 1) and Friday 9 October (week 2), 1:30pm – 2:30pm

    7 - 12 years
    $5 per child

    Bookings required

    Learn to dust, develop and lift fingerprints. All junior recruits take home their own fingerprint evidence.
