Porirua CIB says escaped Porirua Hospital patient Andrew David Worden is now back in hospital care.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam, Porirua CIB, says police received three telephone calls in the space of a few minutes around 9am today from members of the public who had seen Mr Worden in central Wellington this morning. The calls came as a result of media publicity.
Police found Mr Worden walking near Marion Street/Ghuznee Street and have returned him to Porirua Hospital.
"Thank you to the media and public for your assistance," Detective Senior Sergeant Oxnam says.
