Arrests in Porirua robbery

Porirua Police have arrested two people in relation to the robbery a fortnight ago of the Chicago Bar in Lydney Place, Porirua.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Oxnam, Porirua CIB, said a 31-year-old Porirua man will be appearing in the Porirua District Court this afternoon charged with the robbery which happened on 30 November.

The 19-year-old female manager was closing up for the night when she was robbed at gunpoint of several thousand dollars.

Detective Senior Sergeant Oxnam said a 27-year-old woman will also be appearing in court this afternoon charged with receiving cash from the robbery.

He said police are continuing to investigate the Chicago Bar robbery, and one at the Dizzy Fish Bar and Café which happened early last Friday morning, 10 December.
