The vehicle sought in connection with escaped prisoner Brendan Shiels was located in Picton in the weekend.
Sergeant Lew Corbett from Hornby says that this could indicate he was in the north of the south island or moved has further north to either Wellington or Auckland.
Brendan Joseph SHIELS aged 24 yrs, escaped from Paparua Prison at about 11.15pm on Wednesday 17 August.
Shiels should be considered dangerous and not approached. The public are warned that anyone aiding and abetting a prisoner to elude capture could be charged.
Anyone who has information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact Police immediately.
