Arrest tally increases in Eastern Police District drugs operation

Twenty six people (ten women and 16 men) have now been arrested in operation by Eastern Police District officers in Napier and Hastings today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Hansen, head of the District's Organised Crime Unit says more than 60 drug dealing, cultivation, and manufacturing and possession charges have been laid. Further arrests are likely in the coming days as a result of today's operation.

Four indoor cannabis growing operations have been found, more than 150 plants seized along with a small quantity of methamphetamine, cannabis oil and dried leaf.
