The Police Dive Team has been in the water in and around Westhaven Marina from 10.30 this morning as part of another phase of the water search for missing 23 year-old student, Srikanth Rayadurgam who was last seen by family on October 1.
The Specialist Search Group is also back on duty today doing shore and beach searches between Pt Chevalier and Westhaven Marina and these, as tides allow, are expected to take the better part of two days.
Last night's Police and Asian Safety Patrol Group canvass of the Karangahape Rd area and Westhaven Marina, did not result in any remarkable information being passed onto the investigation.
Officer in charge of the inquiry into Srikanth's disappearance, Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Aumua, says information is trickling into the inquiry via the 0800 111 377 number and is helping Police to build a clearer picture of Srikanth and his lifestyle.
"While his disappearance is still very much a mystery we have more information now than we did two weeks ago about what sort of person he is.
"I'd still urge people to call us if they have any information that might help us find him."
People may want to provide anonymous information and can do so via the newly established Crimestoppers number assigned to New Zealand Police - 0800 555 111.
