1 min read

Christchurch Police are seeking witnesses and anyone whose car was `clipped' by another vehicle being pursued by police in the weekend. They also want to hear from anyone whose car was parked in behind Worcester Street and was broken into.

Constable Soames Crowther says that at about 2pm on Saturday 31 October a dark green Subaru Legacy SW was being pursued by police after the two occupants had been disturbed breaking into cars in a city car park behind Worcester Street. The vehicle was seen to be `crabbing' to one side due to a malfunction and it's believed it may have damaged some vehicles it clipped as it travelled down Kilmore Street.

Two males were seen by a witness but only one was located after he dumped the car on Poulson Street off Lincoln Road.

"We are looking for witnesses to the driver and the passenger," says Constable Crowther. "We also have some radar detectors and a digital camera we believe to have been taken from vehicles broken into- which can be claimed."

A 22 year old male has been charged with - Fails to stop for lights/sirens, Reckless driving & Failing to stop and ascertain injury, theft ex car, possession of knife. A second person is being sought.
