Police are trying to locate a 33-year-old man who is in urgent need of medical attention.

Tyrone William Madams from Wanganui was the victim of a serious assault last night in Wanganui and was taken to hospital. He has, however, since left the hospital and doctors believe he could be in serious danger if he does not return for further treatment immediately.

If anyone knows the whereabouts Tyrone they should contact Wanganui Police immediately on 06 349 0600 with information for the attention of Detective Constable Brett Humphrey.

Media enquiries should be referred to Communications Manager Kim Perks on 06 351 2546 or 027 234 8256.
