Auckland City Police are appealing to Pacific Island communities to help locate missing 14 year-old American Samoan girl, Anamarie "Maureen" Saupo [see pic].

She has not been seen by members of her extended family since November 24 last year when she left the Panorama Rd, Mt Wellington, home she had been living in. At the time of her departure she was in the company of her 27 year-old aunt, Kalala Saupo, who also has not been in contact with her wider family.

Sergeant Matthew Smith of the Newmarket Police says it's important Police make contact with Anamarie - more commonly known as Maureen - Saupo.

"While we don't doubt her aunt's ability to care for her, we need to be able to reassure ourselves and her wider family of her safety and wellbeing," Mr Smith said.

"To that end, we'd like Maureen, her aunt Kalala or anyone who knows where they are to contact Police as soon as possible."

Information can go to Sergeant Matthew Smith on 09 529 5657 or matthew.s.smith@police.govt.nz
