Christchurch Schools received their new road patrol uniforms this week so expect to see changes at the road side.

Senior Sergeant John Robinson, Youth Services, says school road patrols do a wonderful job, rain, hail or shine and they deserve lots of respect.

"Please drivers, slow down around schools. When the patrol `lollypop' sign is out it means all traffic must stop; they don't need two out- just the one," he says.

"These children go out in the best of times and the worst of times and remember - they are only about 12 years old. They deserve respect and support from all drivers."
