Police seek whereabouts of three local youths

1 min read

Warkworth Police say that they are seeking the whereabouts of three 17 years old males who they believe were rafting on the Mahurangi River late yesterday.

Police say witnesses saw the trio on the river in an orange inflatable dinghy.

It's believed that the three youths were in a slow moving sector of the swollen river between the bridge at SH1 and the bridge on Queens Street, by the popular Bridge Street Pub.

An expansive search of the Mahurangi River bank was carried out until 9.00pm last evening but there were no sightings of the three 17 year old boys, and police say no one has been reported missing in the Warkworth area.

Police say they would like the trio to contact them at Warkworth Police Station so that their identity and present safety can be confirmed. Police emphasize the boys are not in any trouble.

Anyone who knows the identity of the three youths is asked to contact Sergeant Greg Crouch at Warkworth Police on 09 425 8109
