Post-mortem identifies need for further forensic examination following Hamilton woman's death

1 min read

A post-mortem carried out on a woman found dead in her Hamilton home early this morning has been unable to determine a cause of death.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB said the examination, carried out in Auckland this afternoon, had identified the need for further forensic examination before a cause of death can be determined.

"While we await these results a scene examination of the Whitiora home will be carried out over the weekend.

"At this stage until we get the results of the further forensic tests we are unable to progress our inquiries further and the case remains one of the investigation into a sudden death."

The death of the 55-year-old woman has been reported to the Coroner.
