The family of Scott Guy found dead in Feilding yesterday morning (Thursday, 8 July) has issued the following tribute to him.

Scott was 31 years old and had been married to Kylee since 2005. Scott and Kylee's son Hunter is two-year-old and their second child is expected in September. Scott mother and father are Jo and Bryan Guy and his siblings are Nikki (older sister) and Anna and Callum (younger siblings).

All the siblings are close in age and have always been great friends.

Scott was born and bred in Feilding. He went to Taonui School and then went to Feilding Agricultural High School. On finishing school he went to Taratahi Farming College in Masterton to learn farming,

The Guy family have been milking cows every day for 90 years. Scott wasn't sure he wanted to milk cows so one of the most wonderful things he did was go to the Outback in Australia to be a Jackaroo. Then he came back from there a real cowboy and he did stunt horse riding on World Famous in Feilding hosted by Jason Gunn. He then went to work at Rissington Breedline in Hawkes Bay where he met Kylee in 2003 and at that point he decided to come home to Feilding.

He continued to farm on the family farm managing cropping and dry stock operations and eventually took up shares in the business. In recent years his passion for dairying returned.

Scott was a real movie and music buff along with his brother Callum.

Jo and Bryan Guy said: "When he met Kylee she changed his whole life and becoming a father was the ultimate. He was hugely excited about becoming a dad again. He was so contented; had so many plans and goals.

"You couldn't take the cowboy out of him. He always wore his cowboy boots and hat and was turning Hunter into a 'mini-me' with his own little boots, cowboy clothes, lasso and whip.

"So many kids looked up to him; idolised him right since school. His talent was pulling people together as a team, putting them under his wing and being very generous with his time. He was so caring.

"He was much loved and so, so precious. It feels like such a huge hole has been ripped out of our insides; I don't think you can ever describe it. It's so cruel and devastating to have him taken from us."

Kylee said: "He was a wonderful husband and the best father you could ever have; he was so hands on with Hunter. He was just so perfect; we were just soulmates and he is my best friend. It's so unfair; you couldn't say a bad thing about him. Scott touched so many hearts; he had such a warm, kind nature.

"Hunter and our new baby are the main thing that is helping me through this devastating time."
