Scott Guy homicide investigation

1 min read

At a media conference in Palmerston North this afternoon (Monday,12 July) Detective Inspector Sue Schwalger issued the following update in relation to the death of Scott Guy in Feilding.

"As a result of the scene examination of the Aorangi Road property Police have a greater understanding of what happened on the day Scott was killed.

On the morning of Thursday, 8 July, Scott got up early, as he normally would to go milking. He got dressed, got into his ute and drove down to the end of his driveway.

He has stopped his vehicle and walked to the front of his ute. It is here that he has been shot and killed.

Police can reveal that a shotgun was used and are now looking for the weapon. The type and style of that shotgun is not known.

This is not an accidental death, this is a deliberate act.

Police are yet to establish a reason for Scott being killed.

Someone in the community knows something and can help. I would like the community to think back to Thursday morning. Was someone missing from their bed? Did someone arrive home acting out of character?"

A phone line has been set up to provide the public with a direct line to the investigation team. That number is 0800 808585. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
