MEDIA ADVISORY: NEWS CONFERENCE 2.30PM TODAY, WEDNESDAY

Good afternoon.

There will be a media conference at 2.30pm today, Christchurch Central Police Station, to update you on the incident yesterday when Senior Constable Bruce Lamb, 50, and Constable Mitchel Alatalo, 30, were shot and injured. Police dog Gage, 6, was fatally shot.

Today's conference will include:
• Superintendent Dave Cliff, Canterbury District Commander
• Inspector Brendon Gibson, national coordinator of police dog training

Please meet at the reception of Christchurch Central. The conference will be in the theatrette and staff will take you to the venue. Following the update from Superintendent Dave Cliff, we will move outside to the yard at police station for an interview with Inspector Gibson. There will be photo opportunities of staff with one of the other police dogs.
