Teenager Missing On North Shore

1 min read

North Shore Police are appealing to the public throughout the North Island for assistance in locating the whereabouts of a teenage girl who has been reported missing from her home in Beachhaven.

Sharn [pro Shar-n] Joy REID aged 15 years, was last seen by her mother at the family residence on Saturday 22 July 2006. The most recent public sighting was in Mairangi Bay on Friday 28 July 2006. Since this time there have been no further sightings and Police enquiries to locate the girl are continuing.

"We are keeping an open mind as to her whereabouts. The girl is relatively streetwise," said North Shore Police Youth Aid Officer Constable Scott Norris.

"While we have no immediate concerns for her safety, she is only 15 years of age. We certainly want to be assured of her well being so that she can return home," he said.

"The girl also went missing in May and on this occasion she was found by Police in a popular Wellington bar talking to a group of new found friends. There is a possibility that she is again in the capital, or in a North Island location, including the North Shore," Constable Norris said.

Police have issued a description of the missing teenager.
