Firearms Incident in West Auckland

Henderson Police are investigating a firearms incident that occurred in West Auckland area at about 12.30 pm today, Tuesday 22 August 2006.

Police say that just before 1.00 pm, a 40 year old male was taken to Waitakere Hospital in Henderson, suffering from a gunshot wound believed to have been caused by a shot gun.

The victim was dropped off at the hospital by a female Caucasian aged in her early twenties. This female was driving a silver, late model, two door BMW.

The woman is tall, of slim build and has straight blond hair that was tied up in a pony tail. She was wearing blue jeans a white t-shirt and pink sweater.

"This person has vital information that will assist us in our current enquiries and investigation. We need to identify this woman and to locate her present whereabouts quickly. The public's assistance is necessary for this."
