Investigation continues into Huntly body find

1 min read

Waikato Police are continuing their investigation into the finding of a man’s body in Huntly yesterday.

Detective Inspector Chris Page, Waikato District crime manager, said an intensive scene examination including the use of forensic specialists will begin in earnest today. This detailed scene examination could take some time.

The body, which appears to have been lying in vegetation off Shaw Street, for some days, is still at the scene which was guarded by police overnight.

No details are yet available on who the man is, or where he is from.

Detective Inspector Page said the unexplained death of any individual is always a cause for concern. “At this stage we don’t know what happened to the man or how he died. Finding out more about the man, who he is and how he died will be our focus over the next few days.”
