1 min read

Police investigating the murder of a woman in Otaki earlier this month are seeking information about two vehicles.

The 23-year-old woman died following a shooting incident at an address in Ngaio Street, Otaki, around 4.10pm on Sunday, 8 May.

Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Borrell said: "Our enquiries have revealed that there was a red vehicle which drove slowly up Ngaio Street and past the address during the half hour prior to the shooting. The vehicle was being driven by a man with a moustache. We are keen to identify and speak to this driver. There is no suggestion he has any involvement in the incident; he is simply being sought as a potential witness."

Police also want to hear from anyone who saw a white trail bike in the area any time on Sunday, 8 May.

A 26-year-old man is currently remanded on a charge of murder. Both the accused and the victim are currently subject to suppression orders.

Anyone with information on the vehicles or any other information relevant to this investigation is asked to contact Levin Police 06 366 0500. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
