Police seek missing Oxford man

1 min read

Police are appealing for any sightings of an Oxford man reported missing since the weekend.

Edward NAGY, aged 62, has not been seen since leaving his home at Oxford, north of Christchurch, on Sunday.

He is believed to have been travelling in a grey Subaru Legacy station wagon, registration number ATB195.

Sergeant Colin Stewart of Rangiora Police, says Mr Nagy has not been in contact with family or friends, and his disappearance is out of character.

"We have concerns for his whereabouts and would like to hear from anyone who has seen Mr Nagy or the vehicle in recent days," he says.

Sergeant Stewart says it is possible Mr Nagy is in the Collingwood area, near Nelson, where he has visited before.

Mr Nagy is a Canadian-born New Zealand resident, 172cm (5 feet 8 inches) tall, of medium build. He wears glasses, has his hair in a single plait, and has two gold earrings in his left ear. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red sweater and black oilskin vest.

Anyone with information on Mr Nagy or who may have seen him or the the Subaru Legacy is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mike Ford, ph. (03) 363-7400.
