1 min read

Counties Manukau Police have located Dexter, the two year-old Manchester Terrier stolen from a Remuera address on Monday night.

Dexter was sitting in the back seat of a black Audi A4, along with his mother Bella, aged 5, when the car was stolen from an address on Ngapuhi Road, Remuera.

Bella was discovered by a member of the public last night in Puhinui Park, Papatoetoe.

Dexter was found by Police at approximately 10:30am this morning at an address also in Papatoetoe.

Sergeant Andrew Readings from the Road Crime Unit in Counties Manukau says "We located Dexter after acting on information supplied to the owner by the public. The information didn't lead us straight to him, but we got there in the end."

Sergeant Readings sustained multiple scratches to his arms and legs when while trying to calm a very elated Dexter down and reunite him with his owners, who were waiting a block away.

The stolen Audi has not yet been recovered and Police welcome any information from the public as to its whereabouts. Alternatively members of the public can anonymously contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
