Christchurch Police continue to have concerns over the safety of a missing Christchurch teenager.

The youth, 15-year old Hayden Peter MILES, has not been in contact with family since 22 August.

He is described as a European of thin build, 170cm (5ft 7in) tall. He has dark hair and was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

Detective Logan Penrose of Papanui Police says concerns are held for his safety as he has a history of depression and has not been in contact with members of his family or friends for a long period.

It is believed he may have travelled to the North Island, and could be in the Wellington area, or in Christchurch, Detective Penrose says.

Anyone with information about his movements or whereabouts is asked to urgently contact the Christchurch Police on (03) 3637400.
