Plaque inquiry arrest

A 46 year-old Taupaki man was arrested today by Police investigating the thefts of 13 brass headstone plaques from Waikumete Cemetery in October. He will appear in the Auckland District Court today to face several intentional damage and theft charges. This is the second arrest by officers investigating the thefts. Another man - a 48 year-old from New Lynn - appeared in Court on November 11 where he was charged with receiving stolen goods. He was bailed to reappear on December 8.
