Two people are dead following a high speed crash in Marlborough in the early hours this morning.
Police in Blenheim said two vehicles were travelling down Old Renwick Road heading towards Renwick when the accident happened. One of the vehicles lost control just past Jacksons Rd and collided with a power pole. The vehicle then burst into flames. Police said speed was a major factor in the accident.
No details on the deceased are available. Forensic confirmation of identification will be required which will take some time.
