Northland farmer dies after tractor rolls

A 50-year-old farmer has died after his tractor rolled on a farm near Tangiteroria in Northland today.

The contract milker was driving the tractor and towing an effluent tanker on a hillside when the tractor rolled about 10am.
He was found underneath the tractor by the farm owner and died a short while later.

The Police Serious Crash Unit attended the scene and the matter has been referred to the Coroner. The Department of Labour is also investigating the crash.

The deceased man has been named as Frank Oud from Tangiteroria.
