1 min read

The search for 30 year-old Murray Toleafoa ended in Auckland at lunchtime today when members of the Armed Offender's Squad arrested him on Quay St after he'd parked at Countdown carpark.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard said the arrest was effected without incident and Mr Toleafoa is now in custody.

"I'm relieved that we have found the man who we allege shot at one of our officers early on Friday morning and we're now speaking with him. He was not armed at the time of his arrest.

"I'd like to thank the public for its support and my staff for their dedication and hard work over the past four and half days. The officer who was shot at has also expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for all the work that has gone into finding Murray Toleafoa since 1am Friday, June 8."

Two associates who were with Toleafoa at the time are also assisting Police.
