A post-mortem examination got underway at 9.30am on the body of Balmoral homicide victim, 36 year-old Dean Andrew Clark who died in his Balmoral Rd home late on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
His accused killer, a 38 year-old who had lived at the same address, appears in Auckland District Court today charged with Mr Clark's murder.
Police and ESR scientists are continuing with a scene examination and are speaking with associates of both men in order to build background pictures of them and the circumstances around the tragedy.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark McHattie says the accused was located in Remuera at 10am yesterday after Police received a call from a concerned relative of his.
