At about 8:15pm during the evening of Tuesday 31 July 2007, Police were called to a Ranui Heights address in Porirua.
There they found a 36-year-old male lying in a driveway with numerous puncture wounds to his body, including a serious wound to his abdomen.
He has been operated on in Wellington Public Hospital and is now in a serious but stable condition.
A 29-year-old male, who was located at the scene, has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will be appearing in the Porirua District Court on Wednesday 1 August 2007.
Police cannot comment further because this matter is now before the court.
