MEDIA RELEASE – PALMERSTON NORTH

Thursday, 2 August 2012
MISSING ELDERLY MAN.

Palmerston North Police and Search and Rescue volunteers combed the central city overnight searching for a 73 year old man who had been missing since mid-day.

Peter Kelvin McPherson had been dropped in the centre of town early in the morning as it was his normal daily routine to walk around town then walk home to Roslyn for lunch.

When he failed to arrive home by 4:30 pm his family started their own search and called Police.

After searching without success for several hours Search and Rescue were called out.

Teams of volunteers and Police SAR searched the main routes between the CBD and Roslyn as well as other possible locations with no success.

Peter Kelvin McPherson is a 73 year old European man. He is 180cm tall and of lean build. He has thinning grey hair. He was last seen wearing a black woollen jacket over a green woollen jersey, blue jeans, black boots and a grey chequered swandri cap with ear flaps.

Please report any sightings of Peter to contact their local Police.

Media enquiries should be referred to the Central Communications Manager.
