1 min read

At about 10:55 a.m. on the 28th of November 2012, Police including Eagle and the Westpac Rescue helicopter responded to two adult males clinging to an overturned dinghy near the Mahurangi Peninsula between Casnell Island. Both were not wearing life jackets and one of the men was able to maintain contact with Police using his cell phone. Police would remind people to always wear lifejackets and to have the right equipment in the event of an emergency whilst boating. One of the men was airlifted to the Auckland Hosptial for medical treatment, the other was returned home.
