Police speak with Pelorus crash survivors

The two women who survived Wednesday's horrific crash at Pelorus remain in Blenheim's Wairau Hospital in a stable condition.

A 33 year old Marlborough woman who was the sole occupant of a ute has a broken ankle and will require surgery. She also has significant bruising.

A 25 year old German woman who was a front seat passenger in the other vehicle has a broken collar bone and is also badly bruised.

Two men died in the crash. One was from Germany and the other from France. Their post mortem examinations will take place today.

The surviving tourist has told Police the trio only met recently and were sharing a ride.

Serious Crash Investigators are back at the crash scene today working to establish exactly what has happened.

Police are working to advise the next of kin.
