Cordons lifted in Miramar Peninsula

1 min read

Wellington Police have lifted the cordons in the Miramar Peninsula although the search for escaped Wellington Prison inmate John Frederick Ericson continues.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell, Wellington CIB, said police have cleared the northern tip of the peninsula with no indication that Ericson is still in that area.

The investigation continues to find Ericson although the armed response has now been stood down.

"We're still asking people to keep an eye out for Ericson and to report any suspicious behaviour or sightings of him to police."
