Motorcyclist killed in Marlborough crash named

Police have released the name of the Wellington man killed in a motorcycle crash at Okaramio in Marlborough about 5pm yesterday.

He was Kenneth Gordon LILLEY, aged 54 years.

The crash occurred after Mr LILLEY braked to avoid colliding with a vehicle in front of him and lost control of his motorcycle, crossing the centre line into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

No one else was injured in the accident.

The matter has now been referred to the Coroner.

Mr LILLEY'S family has requested that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time and do not wish to be approached for comment.
