Alleged historic sex offender in Court

1 min read

A 68 year old man who has been on strict bail conditions since his first appearance in the Waitakere District Court on May 8, 2013, where he was charged with several offences including Unlawful Sexual Connection, Male Rapes Female and Indecent Assaults of two victims between 1977 and 1987, is scheduled to appear again today.

Police investigations into allegations by two other victims are in progress.

At the time of the alleged offending the girls' ages ranged between six and 17. They are now in their late 30s and early 40s.

Detective Bryony Brown of the Henderson CIB says most of the alleged offending occurred in the accused's homes at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base in Hobsonville and his car.

"These women have shown a lot of courage by coming to Police with their complaints and we have conducted thorough investigations into those complaints which have resulted in the charges being laid," Ms Brown said.

"It's possible there are other women who came into contact with the accused over the years who may have information they wish to share with Police and we encourage anyone who has concerns to contact Police to discuss."
