Waitemata CIB in Henderson are investigating the alleged abduction of a two year old boy in the West Auckland suburb of Ranui early today.
Detective Sergeant Peter LITHERLAND says police have concerns for the boy's safety after he was removed from a Ranui address by a 17 year old female relative at about midnight.
The name of the missing boy is:
CHAPMAN / Kauri
Male - Maori
Age 2 years
The boy is believed to be with:
SAMUELS / Richelle / aka
COOPER - TAATAU / Rochelle / aka "Angel"
Age 17 years
Female - Maori
Clothing - wearing a pink hooded jacket, green and white striped shirt,
Police are appealing to the public for sightings of the boy and the female teenager.
"It appears Richelle SAMUELS was picked up from the Ranui address in an unknown vehicle. We would like anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of either Kauri or Richelle or the vehicle used to contact us immediately," Detective LITHERLAND said.
